Soccer baseball, also called Kickball, is a popular game that pulls the best elements from two of the world's most engaging sports- soccer and baseball. The objective of the game, like baseball, is to score more runs than the other teams by crossing the plate after kicking the ball into play.
Kickball, originally called "Kicking Baseball" was claimed to have been invented as early as 1910.
We introduce this game to familiarize you with baseball before the Blue Jays game. Using a game you understand (soccer) and mixing it up with a game you don't (baseball) will help you learn in a fun, engaging way.
Each player takes a turn kicking the ball rolled by the “pitcher”
Once you’ve kicked the ball, try to run to the first base without getting touched
If the other team catches the ball. you are out
If you are touched before reaching 1st base you are out
Once there are three OUTs, the teams switch
Score more runs than your opponent team. Kick the ball thrown at you as far as you can before running around 4 bases to complete a run. Once a player manages to get around the four bases before being tagged out, then another batter steps in.
