Your stay in Toronto will be at the Chestnut Residence, managed by the University of Toronto. Chestnut is a modern, fully equipped residence located in the heart of downtown Toronto, offering students a comfortable and convenient home during their program. The residence in walking distance of St. Patrick Subway station, as well as shops, cafés, and cultural attractions, making it easy to balance study and city life.
Arrivals can check in at the reception of Chestnut Residence from 4:00pm and need to check out on their last day at 11:00am.
The residence offers private and spacious rooms featuring one or two double beds and an en suite bathroom.
All rooms have a bed, desk and chair and a wardrobe.
There is a small shower with a sink and a toilet
Bed linen is provided and towels are provided.
If you need a hairdryer you will need to bring one for yourself

Meal times are as follows:
Breakfast: 7:30am - 10:30am
Lunch: 12:30pm - 1:30pm
Dinner: 5:00pm - 8:00pm

Public transport, the TTC, in Toronto is safe, reliable and very regular. It is popular with young people and widely used.
There are two subway stations in walking distance to the residence, which are St. Patrick station and TMU (formerly Dundas).
In the morning to go to class, you will take the Line 2 northbound subway from St. Patrick Station to St. George Station. For lunch you will take back the subway to the residence.
Chestnut Residence is located in the heart of downtown, only a walking distance from 2 subway stations. There are many shops, restaurants and cafes in the area, as well a shopping mall. All of your meals are taken at Chestnut Residence in the Chestnut Dining Hall.
Daily social activities will take place after lunch. Resident students will be meeting in the student lounge with their group and their activity leader at 1:30PM. Once the activity ends, the students will be dropped off by the activity leader at the nearest subway station. The activity leader is available to the students and will answer any questions that they might have about what directions they need to take to get back to the residence.
If you cause any damage to the room or the property, we will expect you to pay for the damage before you leave
Make sure you keep your room locked and any money or valuables in a locked suitcase. Remember, the Canada uses debit and credit cards for almost all purchases. You really don’t need to bring lots of cash with you.
We expect all students to be in their flats by 22:00 and in their own rooms by 22:30. We do have a checking system in place and students breaking the curfew will face disciplinary action.
